- How do I know if my group is setup for a Membership file on the Bentegro system?
- By viewing the group in the BAE system, you are able to confirm that a file is being sent to BCBS from Bentegro if you are only able to process the following: update medical group, print temp id card, request permanent id card, add to COBRA
- How do I view my active groups on Bentegro?
- In Bentegro, any group that has active lines of coverage will be listed on the Clients tab on the Employer Listing screen.
- How do I access my group’s employer portal in Bentegro?
- By viewing the group in your Clients tab, you will have a new button in the bottom right hand side of your screen that will be labeled as “Logon to Employer Portal” that will take you directly to your group’s employer portal in Bentegro
- Is there reporting capabilities in Bentegro to show employees’ deductions?
- Yes, a report can be ran on demand using the reporting module or a custom, scheduled report can also be created in the Employer Portal. This can be ran throughout the year or created the day after the enrollment is completed.
- We, at Bentegro, recommend running the following reports:
- Employee Information Report – This report will show employee information
- Employee Benefit Report – This report will list details of the employee benefits including deductions
- Special Enrollment Report – This report will show enrollment data for employee(s) who are experiencing a Special Enrollment
- Company Wide Enrollment Report – This report will show enrollment data for employees who are experiencing an open enrollment (Employee Enrollment Experience) in Bentegro
- Do my employer contacts have access to their Employer portal in Bentegro?
- Yes, Employer contacts have access to their employer portal. A registration email can be sent either directly from Bentegro or the Access code can be provided to the contact for them to register
- How far out are my renewals available to be imported into Bentegro?
- Renewals are available to be imported 60-90 days out from the group’s renewal date once BCBS has released the renewal letter.
- When are membership changes sent from Bentegro to BCBS?
- The membership changes are sent to BCBS on a daily file feed that is sent at 11 pm CST.
- There are terminated and COBRA employees listed on my imported BCBS renewal census. Why?
- Bentegro receives the most up to date information on Employer Demographics and Census information based on when BCBS takes their snapshot of the renewal (typically 60-90 days out from the renewal), but the information can be adjusted in Bentegro
- Why am I getting an “Outside of QE Date Range” when trying to process a retro or future membership transaction?
- Bentegro only allows for retro or future membership transactions to be entered within a 30 day date range based on the date of the transactions. Please send an email to support@bentegro.com to have the membership transaction processed.
- I.E. – If the date is 3/1/2023, then I am unable to process a retro termination for an effective date of 1/1/2023.

- How do I know that membership changes are being processed by BCBS?
- In BAE, a history can be shown under an employee’s profile of any membership transactions that were processed in Bentegro. The name that should be associated with the change will be AEP.
- How do I know my new business case has been approved?
- You will receive a welcome letter from either your General Agency or from BCBS stating that the group has been approved
- How do I know if my new business case needs additional information?
- You will receive an email from either your General Agency or from BCBS stating that the group’s submission requires more information.
- Typically, how long does it take for my new business case to be submitted to BCBS once the e-signature process is completed?
- As soon as the e-signature is completed by both the employer and the agent (and the General Agency if group is located in Texas) the documents and the census are provided to BCBS.
- Typically, how long does it take for my new business case to be approved?
- 1-2 business days, as long as additional information is not requested by the carrier.
- How do I know if my Renewal Plan Changes have been completed?
- You will receive either a confirmation email from your Bentegro Account Manager that the changes have been completed or an email asking for additional information.
